Get Started with Rijo Campers – campervan rental

Let's Explore Iceland with a Campervan Are you ready for an unforgettable adventure in Iceland? With Rijo Campers, your journey begins the moment you land. Here's how to make the most of your campervan rental experience:

What is the best time to visit Iceland?

The best time to visit Iceland is from May 1 to October 1. Not too cold, not too windy, not too rainy – perfect time to enjoy spectacular sights of Icelandic nature.

Campervan or 4×4?

It depends on your needs and type of travel. If you want to explore the highlands, go on hikes, and venture off the beaten path, we recommend a 4×4 with a roof tent. This option is perfect for couples or friends seeking adventure, as our SUVs comfortably accommodate up to 2 people. For a “ring road” trip and general sightseeing, we recommend one of our comfortable vans. These come with a “ready to live” package, requiring no extra gear rental or worries, and accommodate 2-5 people, making group travel more fun. However, you can also do the “ring road” with an SUV with a roof tent, of course.

Manual vs Automatic Gearbox

We offer both but the choice depends solely on your driving skills.

What does “ready to live” campervan stand for?

A campervan comes fully equipped for your convenience. It includes a fresh water tank, a discharge tank, a sink with an electric faucet, a gas stove with a full gas can, a refrigerator, an overnight Webasto heating system, a power inverter with a socket to charge phones, tablets, and PCs, as well as extra USB ports powered by the main battery. You’ll also find metal cutlery and ceramic utensils, a pot, frying pan, kettle, cutting board, wine opener, can opener, broom and dustpan, dishwashing liquid, and a brush/sponge. A table that converts into a bed. Curtains for privacy. Storage space under the bed for your belongings. A 5-meter power cable for plugging in at campsites. Lighting inside the campervan.
With the Renault Master (5-person), you will have additional storage space, seats for 2 people in the back, and a bunk bed.

Please note, for the WC and shower facilities, you need to stay at campsites that provide these amenities, as wild camping is forbidden in Iceland

What’s included in the SUV 4×4 with roof tent rental?

With our 4×4 rental, you’ll receive a roof tent sized 1,3 x 2m and a mattress with a cover for a comfortable sleep. The package also includes a portable gas stove with a full can of gas, as well as a kitchen box equipped with plastic cutlery and utensils. You’ll have a pot, frying pan, kettle, and cutting board for cooking. Additional items include a wine opener, can opener, dishwashing liquid, and a brush/sponge for cleaning.
